Laser Eye Surgery FAQs
Is laser eye surgery painful?
No. Numbing drops are used, so you feel pressure rather than pain. The laser itself takes seconds per eye. Mild watering or grittiness for a day afterwards is normal.
How much does laser eye surgery cost in Lahore?
At Eye Care Center: PRK from PKR 70,000, Femto-LASIK from PKR 150,000, SMILE PKR 350,000, and ICL PKR 550,000. Prices are for both eyes. Your exact option is confirmed after the corneal scan.
Am I suitable if my number is very high?
Often yes. If the number is too high for a laser, or your cornea is thin, ICL is the alternative, a lens is placed inside the eye and corrects very high prescriptions. The scan tells us which is safe for you.
How long until I can go back to work?
LASIK and SMILE patients usually return in 1–3 days. PRK takes longer, around 5–7 days, because the surface heals on its own.
Is the result permanent?
The cornea reshaping is permanent. It does not stop age-related changes though: most people still need reading glasses after about 40, laser or no laser.
What is the minimum age?
18 years, and your glasses number should have been stable for at least 1–2 years. If it is still changing, we ask you to wait.
Can both eyes be done together?
Yes. Both eyes are treated in the same sitting, usually within 10–30 minutes in total.
